Well Phil had been planning on proposing the summer he spent in Minneapolis and had been secretly working on finding a ring in the weeks leading up to the engagement, "borrowing" Hannah's car to go " food shopping" and also flat out stealing her car without her knowledge on certain occasions.
He finally decided that Tuesday July 28th would be the day. He wanted it to be a surprise and didn't know if his plans would actually work until midnight the night before. He asked Hannah if she'd like him to come over in the morning and cook her breakfast which wasn't out of the ordinary, Phil being the wonderful guy he is, with excellent cooking skills as well.
So Phil came over that morning with the ring in his back pocket and bacon and eggs in his hands having not slept the night before and been sick with nerves that morning. His plan was to propose once he got in the door but as he was about to pull out the ring he found out Hannah's roommate was still home and in the shower. After enduring the longest 20 minutes of his life Phil was finally alone with the love of his life. He got down on one knee and popped the question in the most romantic and original way possible and Hannah in shock and in her pj's (looking as beautiful as ever) screamed yes and jumped into her fiancée's arms.
The day continued with a wonderful breakfast, a hilarious movie, fun times shoe shopping and a delicious romantic meal. The day ended where everything had begun at Minnehaha Falls where the couple first declared their love for each other over 3 years ago.
